Terms and Conditions  

NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN.

The 100Up Competition (the "Competition") starts on 18 February 2012 at 12:01 AM (GMT) and ends on 26 February 2012 at 11:59 PM (GMT) ("Competition Period").

ELIGIBILITY: Competition is open to UK residents aged 18 or over. Employees of Intuit Limited and Intuit Inc. ("Intuit"), and The National Association of College and University Entrepreneurs (NACUE), and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, promotion and advertising agencies, and members of their immediate family (spouse and parent, children and siblings and their respective spouses, regardless of where they reside) and persons living in the same household, whether or not related, of such employees, are not eligible to enter or win.

HOW TO ENTER:

During the Competition Period, send an e-mail to intuit100up@promoentries.com with your detail and describe in a maximum of 150 words your new business idea.  Entries generated by script, macro or other automated means are void.  Maximum of one Entry per person, per email address and per household.  All Entries become the sole property of the Intuit and will not be returned.

REQUIREMENTS OF ENTRIES:

Your Entry must (i) be your own original business idea and work that the Entrant is either running or intends to set up in near future, (ii) not be previously published or submitted in connection with any other competition, (iii) and not be offensive or inappropriate, defamatory or an infringement of any person’s personal or property rights or any other third party rights.

[22 February 2012 - to clarify clause (ii), you may enter an idea that has been submitted to another competition, it is just that we would ask you to tailor the wording of your entry so that it best reflects our judging criteria and our limit of 150 words].

By submitting your Entry, you agree that your Entry conforms to these Official Rules and that Intuit may disqualify your Entry for any reason, including if it determines, that your Entry fails to conform to these Official Rules in any way or otherwise contains unacceptable content as determined solely by Intuit.

JUDGING: All eligible Entries received by Intuit will be reviewed by at least one independent judge, and assessed on the following criteria:

·    Quality of Idea (40%) What is the Business in You? Give a sense of the quality of your business and the ambitions and aspirations of it as a concept,

· Innovation/Originality of the Idea (30%) How unique is it? How inspiring and compelling is your business model, product or service and give a sense of how it is implemented,

·       and Likely Impact on the Community/Business Success  (30%).  What difference will it make? Provide us with a sense of the impact your business will have on a customer or market segment.

The 100 Entries with the highest combined scores will win the event Ticket prizes. In the event that there are more  Entries with a top score than the 100 prizes available there will be an additional, tie-breaker amongst the relevant entries to determine the final winners. Intuit reserves the right not to award all prizes if it does not receive a sufficient number of eligible and qualified Entries. Prize awards are subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with these Official Rules.

WINNER NOTIFICATION: Judges’ and Intuit’s decisions are final and binding on all matters relating to this Competition.  Potential winners will be notified by telephone.

PrizeS:  100 x a single-day ticket to the Global Entrepreneurship Congress in Liverpool on 13th March 2012. In addition, the prize includes:

1.    up to £100 of travel expenses upon submission of valid receipts after the event.

2.    Overnight accommodation, single room, at the Jurys Inn Hotel, Liverpool on the night of the 12th March 2012.

3.    Breakfast at the hotel and lunch at the Congress on the 13th March 2012.

4.    Free entry to the Intuit business bootcamp on 12th March 2012

5.    Option to buy tickets for additional delegates or for additional days.

Prizes are awarded “as is” with no warranty or guarantee, either express or implied by Intuit. Winners may not substitute, assign or transfer prize or redeem prize for cash, but Intuit reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to substitute prize (or a portion of it) with one of comparable or greater value.  Winners are responsible for any other costs and expenses associated with prize acceptance and use not specified herein as being provided, including some meals.  Congress tickets are not transferable.  All prize details are at Intuit’s sole discretion.

GENERAL CONDITIONS:  By participating, you agree: (a) to abide by these Official Rules and decisions of Intuit and judges, which shall be final and binding in all respects relating to this Competition; (b) to release, discharge and hold harmless Intuit, and The National Association of College and University Entrepreneurs (NACUE), and their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, and advertising and promotion agencies, and the respective officers, directors, shareholders, employees, agents and representatives of the foregoing (collectively, “Released Parties”) from any and all injuries, liability, losses and damages of any kind to persons, or property resulting, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from your participation in the Competition or any Competition-related activity or the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of any awarded prize; and (c) to the use of your name, voice, photograph/video, Entry, image and/or likeness for, advertising, and promotional purposes in any media worldwide and on the Internet by Intuit and its designees, without compensation or your prior review or approval, and to execute specific consent to such use if asked to do so.  By participating, you also agree not to release any publicity or other materials on your own or through someone else regarding participation in the Competition without the prior consent of Intuit.  If there is a dispute as to the identity of an online entrant, the prize will be awarded to the authorised account holder of the email address and entrant must comply with these Official Rules.  The “authorised account holder” is defined as the natural person to whom the email address is assigned by an Internet service provider, online service provider or other organization (e.g., business, educational institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address.

OWNERSHIP/USE OF ENTRIES: By submitting an Entry, you agree Intuit shall own all rights to the Entry and that it and its designees may edit, modify, and distribute the Entry and all elements of such Entry, including, without limitation, the names and likenesses of any persons or locations in it, in any media worldwide, without compensation, or your prior review or approval.

MISCELLANEOUS: Released Parties are not responsible for any errors or difficulties of any kind or otherwise relating to the Competition, including, without limitation, errors or difficulties which may occur in connection with the administration of the Competition, the processing or judging of Entries, the announcement of the prize(s), or the incorrect uploading of the Entry or in any Competition-related materials.  Intuit reserves the right to disqualify any person and void their associated Entries in the event Intuit determines there is tampering with the Promotion or that person is acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. If Intuit believes any portion of the Promotion has been compromised by any means, which impairs the administration, security, fairness or proper play, or submission of Entries, Intuit reserves the right to suspend, modify or terminate the Competition and, if terminated, at its discretion, select the potential winner(s) from all eligible, non-suspect Entries received prior to action taken using the judging procedure outlined above.

Governing Law/Jurisdiction:  All issues and questions concerning these Official Rules or the rights and obligations of participants or Intuit in connection with the Competition shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales, without giving any effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules.  Any dispute shall be resolved in the English Courts.

Severability:  If any provision(s) of these Official Rules are held to be invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions hereof will remain in full force and effect.

DATA PROTECTION: Entrants’ information will be collected in accordance with Intuit’s privacy policy available at http://www.intuit.co.uk/about/privacy.jsp and may be transferred or stored in the USA.
